Select 4 activities from the 6 below to complete and share with the class next week.
1. Select one of the 9 "characteristics of successful families " and briefly describe how you would develop this characteristic with your child(ren).
2. Rewrite the following "Dont" rules for children into "do" statements.
Example: Suzie, dont climb on the furniture.
Suzie, we sit on the furniture; we climb on the playground toys.
Dont throw the ball in the house.

3. Give the "reason why" for 2 rules selected from question 2 above.
Example: Suzie, we sit on the furniture; we climb on the playground toys.

Suzie, God wants us to be good stewards of everything we have. We could damage the furniture. You could fall and get hurt or you might hurt someone else sitting by you. Playground toys are made for climbing on.

4. Youre going to take your child to Wal-mart to shop. Tell how you would use pre-activity encouragement of verbal reminders, dialog question, or positive words to help them behave appropriately.
5. Describe a family activity you would like to do or have done with your child to build good family memories.
6. If you have already connected with a community group such as a local church, support group for new moms, or a close circle of friends or family, describe how the experience has helped you and your child(ren).
